Introduction :
Coconut Maracas are a kind of idiophone. When you shake the maracas, they make sound. Maracas are made by putting small pebbles or seeds inside the dried plant fruits. Maracas are a kind of shaker. We usually hold one maraca with each hand and shake with two hands. Being a rhythm musical instrument, maracas are very important to Latin America music.
“Maraca” is come from the language of South America Maraca Tribe. Since we usually hold one maraca with each hand and play with two hands, plural form, “Maracas” is commonly called.
Maracas are a pair of rattles made from wood, metal or coconut shells. They are used to provide a constant pulse in a wide variety of Latin-American dance styles. Although easy to play, the player needs to develop a technique of flicking the pellets in one mass in order to create a tight sound, so the maraca rhythm can be clearly heard.
