Introduction :

Thunder Maker is a kind of friction drum that produces the sound of thunder.

Friction drums include instruments of many shapes and sizes. Some, like those used in African initiation ceremonies, are typically drum-shaped. Others are essentially novelty instruments popular in many parts of the world. All types of friction drum are characterized by a membrane made to vibrate by friction – being rubbed with the fingers or a cloth, or by a cord or stick piercing the membrane.

Friction drums are folk instruments of pre-industrialized Central Europe, Africa and Latin America. They are often associated with spiritual music because of their unusual sound.

發出雷聲的樂器 (Thunder Maker) 是摩擦鼓 (friction drum) 的一種，會產生雷鳴的聲音。
摩擦鼓有許多不同的形狀及大小。那些用於非洲入會儀式的摩擦鼓，通常是鼓形。其他的都是新奇的樂器，流行於世界許多地方。所有類型的摩擦鼓，特點都是通過摩擦鼓膜，產生振動而發出聲音 – 可用手指、布揉擦，或用線、棒子穿過鼓膜摩擦。
摩擦鼓是工業化前歐洲中部、非洲和拉丁美洲的民俗樂器。他們往往與精神音樂範疇有關，因為他們會發出不尋常的聲音。
