Code : TT 227

Introduction :
Rkang-gling is a trumpet, made from a human femur in the past. The mouthpiece section is protected by a metal mount, while the pierced condyles which form the bell are covered in leather studded with turquoises and coral. Often held in left hand, while the right hand is used to shake the damaru, it is the attribute of Buddhist monks and hermits endowed with magic powers, capable of conjuring up hail or trance-induced flight, but its use is chiefly associated with funerary rites.
