Introduction :
Zills is Turkish which means small cymbals. Small metal cymbals are played in belly dance performance. For each hand, two small cymbals (one set) are worn to play. Traditionally, the diameter of small cymbal is approximately 5 cm. Nowadays, there are various sizes of small cymbals which producing different sound.
Finger cymbals are usually made of brass or silver, and are originated in Asia as dancers’ accoutrements. Miniature cymbals, attached in pairs to the thumb and forefinger or middle finger of each hand, are played in many countries, especially Egypt. Finger cymbals of different type, like thimbles, are worn by Chinese dancers on the thumb and middle finger of each hand. Both kinds are also widely used in Western orchestral music.

Zills 是土耳其語『小鈸』的意思。這金屬小鈸是在肚皮舞表演時所使用的,每隻手套上兩個小鈸(一套)演奏。傳統上小鈸直徑約5厘米,現在有各種不同尺寸的小鈸,奏出各種不同的聲音。
手指小鈸通常是銅或銀製成的,起源於亞洲,作為舞者的裝備。小鈸套在拇指和食指或中指作演奏,在許多國家,特別是埃及被廣泛使用。不同類型的手指小鈸,如頂針,由中國舞蹈家套在每隻手的拇指和中指作演奏。這兩種類型的手指小鈸也被廣泛使用在西方的管弦樂上。
