Introduction :
Bansuri is bans [bamboo] + suri [melody] means bamboo melody. The bamboo flute used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal has 6 - 7 holes. Bansuri has been appeared in Buddhist paintings since AD 100 and has a long history. Nowadays, it is still a main instrument being used in different types of ensemble.

Bansuri 是 bans 『竹』 + suri 『旋律』，即是竹旋律的意思。在印度、巴基斯坦、孟加拉國及尼泊爾使用的竹笛，有6 - 7個指孔。 Bansuri 在公元100年的佛教繪畫中出現，有著悠久的歷史。現在仍是主要的樂器，被用於不同類型的合奏。
