Bamboo Panpipe 竹製排笛

Introduction :

Bamboo Panpipe is a kind of panpipe made of bamboo. This panpipe does not apply to the Western musical scale. (B, C, E, F, G, A, C #, D #)

Panpipes consist of a set of vertical tubes of different resonating lengths joined side by side, in a raft or bunch shape. The sound is produced by blowing across the top of the holes. The tubes have no finger holes and the lower end is usually stopped. Panpipes have been known for over 2,000 years and are found all over the world. They are made from various materials : reed, clay, bone, stone, wood, metal or in more recent times, plastic. They are still used in the folk music of Europe, the Far East, South America, and various other regions. They are often portrayed as a characteristic instrument of herdsmen.

排笛由不同共鳴長度的垂直管組成，垂直管可排成筏形或排成一束的形狀。在笛管的上方吹，便會發出聲音。笛管沒有指孔，而下端通常是被封不通。排笛已經有超過兩千多年的歷史，於世界各地相當普遍。它們可由各種材料製造：蘆葦、粘土、骨頭、石、木、金屬或近代的材料 － 塑料。排笛在歐洲、遠東、南美，以及其他各地區仍被用來演奏民間音樂。它們更常常被描繪為象徵牧民的樂器。
