Introduction :

In Sanskrit, it is called Mandala. “Manda” means “essence” or “nature” and “la” means “change”. Thus, the original meaning of Mandala is that nature will be changed under various conditions and, discord, disharmony meaning is also included. In addition, a variety of Mandala development forms to unify the various religious principles and symbolic representation of the discord, disharmony can also be seen.

梵文被稱為曼陀羅。Manda是『真髓』或『本質』的意思，接續語尾『la』表示『變化』的意思。因此，曼陀羅的本義是本質會根據各種不同條件而改變，含有不和諧的意思。此外，曼陀羅多樣化的開展，形成統一各種信仰形態的基礎原則，亦象徵性地表現出不和諧的意思。
